Round steaks are often challenging and hard to cook. An easy and hassle free way to do this is to slow cook the meat giving it a softer more tender texture. You can then choose to shred the meat and enjoy on a roll with barbecue sauce, use in tacos or use with your favorite enchilada recipe. ~Enjoy!
Substitute elk round steak or venison round steak.
Ingredients
- 1 lb antelope round steaks
- 1/2 cup of dry red wine
- 32oz Beef Broth
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4-5 whole garlic cloves
- 1/2 medium onion diced
Add all steaks and all ingredients to a slow cooker. Turn the temperature to low and forget about it for 8-12 hours or until the meat becomes tender.
I used this recipe for our antelope that we got this year and it came out AMAZING!! I used bottom round and just had about two pounds.. only think is that I had to cook it a little longer. Tacos came out awesome thank you so much!!!
